“I’on Wanna Talk Meet Me At The Bank Show Me What You Really Bout” -Megan
With the rise of female artists such as City Girls, Cardi B, Kash Doll, Cupcake, Lizzo and so many others, this year has proven to be a breakout year for many female artists. Long gone are the times where there can be only be one “It Girl” in female hip-hop. As a result, the beauty known as Megan Thee Stallion has solidified her spot as someone to watch this year. The release of her recent project fever has allowed the Houston beauty to show and prove she is in a league of her own. With hot tracks, slick punchlines and her own style of gritty and raw delivery, Hot Girl Meg couldn’t have chosen a better title for what we are proclaiming the official sound track of the summer.
Megan Thee Stallion begin to make major waves on the scene with the release of Tina Snow. (Big Ole Freak is still in heavy rotation for me) My first impression of her was that she was a confident rapper that exudes sexiness and was supportive of her peers. Something we still don’t see consistently. Fast forward to Fever, the free JT nod in the beginning track “Realer” proved me to be right about the 5’11 spitter. *Fist Pump*. There are only two features on the project which are Cash Sh*T feat Da Baby and Simon Says Feat Juicy Jay. This definitely proves that she can hold her own not that anybody doubted it anyway! The 14 track project clocks in at 40 mins. Perfect timing for the car ride to all of the day parties this summer! Fever is available everywhere you stream music. If you’re in Miami don’t miss your chance to see Megan Live at the James L Knight Center this Memorial weekend. If you see a Pretty Hustlaz sign don’t be afraid to come over and flick it up!
