“But Every Day’s a Celebration Another Celebration, Life is the Occassion” -Jojo, Pedialyte
Sometimes we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, so we don’t know when the darkness will end or if it will ever end. This is one way to explain Jojo’s seven year battle with her label that began to overshadow her actual career. We no longer remembered the pop singer as the chart topping teen we came to know and love. Jojo was now defined by her legal troubles. Fortunately for us she didn’t let a situation that would have ended most people, be the end of her story. Jojo refused to let her fans down. She continued to give them music through her mixtapes and covers of popular artists. Her most viral cover was of Drake’s single Marvin’s Room. She even released her 3rd studio album as well as re-released her first two albums despite going through the storm.
Joanna Levesque has been in the industry more than half her existence. 16 years to be exact. Everything she’s endured has led up to this very moment. May 1st Jojo dropped her 4th studio album “good to know” The difference between this album and the ones in the past is this is the music Jojo has always wanted to make. “Look at me now” the get out singer croons on the opening song. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick things off. I’m not sure what people may have been expecting from JoJo, but I can guarantee you it’s not the mature, sultry, confident, tracks she gave. “good to know” is 9 tracks of sexy. The vocal runs gave us EVERYTHING! She holds her own with only one feature from Tory Lanez. The summer is for party songs but since most of us are quarantined and this is the perfect vibe to spend some time inside with a glass of wine. Don’t take our word for it though, take a listen below and let us know in the comments how you feel!
