Tracey Oliver has confirmed that Girls Trip 2 is happening with the original cast. Oliver co-wrote the 2017 film with Kenya Barris. The original cast returning for Girls Trip 2 includes Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah. It focused on the friendship between women living busy lives that hadn’t been able to spend time altogether in years. It was a box office hit and launched the career of Tiffany Haddish.
Oliver had been promoting her Prime Video series Harlem when she shared the news of the comedy film sequel. She shared that the film may take place in Ghana, so an African girl’s trip. Will Packer will return as a producer for the comedy film sequel. Regina Hall played Ryan Pierce, Queen Latifah was Sasha Franklin, Jada Pinkett Smith played Lisa Miller Cooper, and Tiffany Haddish starred as Dina.
