Usher is great at hiding secrets, and thats not just because he has an award winning song, titled “Confessions”. Back in 2012 the “Let It Burn” vocalist had to set fire to his bank account when he settled a lawsuit by paying $1.1 Million dollars to a celebrity stylist that he had sexual relations with.
I know what your thinking: Sexual assault or rape. Nope.
Raymond was accused of “consciously and purposefully” withholding his diagnosis of Herpes from the stylist “and continued to have unprotected sex” with her. Court papers showed that the he paid $2,754.40 of the victim’s medical bills back in 2012, and eventually settled for this size-able amount on December 28th of that year.
Now that 5 years has passed, Radar Online published the court documents to their site and the truth has been exposed!!
Usher was diagnosed with the disease in 2009 or 2010, around the same time that he filed for divorce from ex-wife Tameka Foster. They stylist questioned Raymond about his sexual health status when she noticed a “green discharge” was coming from his penis, yet he told her that he was negative for the virus.
Later the woman began to experience vaginal sores, fevers and chills. When she went to the doctor, they pronounced her diagnoses as Herpes. In California, the law states that it is illegal to knowingly or recklessly transmit a STD. Usher having sex with her repeatedly knowing that he was infected with a virus that could be transmitted was this pretty little lawsuit waiting to happen.
She commented that she “feels that her health and body have been ruined” and “has suffered severe emotional distress and has been extremely depressed … knowing there is no cure.”
Our heart goes out to the stylist, but I’m sure she isn’t hurting to bad sitting on a million dollars.
My next thought after this whole fiasco is… How does Usher’s current wife feel about his diagnosis and are there going to be any other women that come out of the woodwork who may have contracted Herpes from the singer, now that this information of the lawsuit have gone public?
Representatives at People magazine reached out to his management and PR but got no comments on the news. We’ll see soon.
