Bringing new life in the world is a beautiful thing and nothing short of a blessing. The emotions a woman experiences when finding out she’s with child can include everything from shock and amazement to disbelief. It seems when Yung Miami announced her pregnancy in a clip of the anticipated “Period 2” docuseries, she experienced all of these emotions and more. In the clip, Miami calls Pee, to tell him she’s pregnant through tears she confesses that JT is away and she knows Coach and Pee have been going hard but she’s pregnant. “I don’t know what to do” cries Miami.

There has been some speculation about the arrival of a mini city girl and we now know the rumors were true. Most city girls & city boys were ecstatic about becoming city aunts & uncles to their new city niece. (Most of the fans have already made up in their minds that it’s a girl). However, not everyone thought her pregnancy was a good thing. Some questioned her decision since it’s still very early her in her career. Yung Miami responded to the nay-sayers in an Instagram post:

I’ve been going back and forth to share this moment with my fans. But on MY TERMS! I want this journey to be nothing but positive going forward and I wanted to share this with y’all. No one knows what is best for me but GOD, and this was just his timing for me. Everybody doubted me and said I shouldn’t be rapping and that I wouldn’t be able to hold the group down while JT was away but I did just that and then some, to the point that you all have made this experience as an rapper so fulfilling that I cannot wait to show more of what I really have in store for my fans. I did everything they said I couldn’t because that’s just the type of woman I am and going to continue to be. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and life changing, so I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the City Girls! This is my personal life and it is what it is! PERIOD -Yung Miami

I’m glad despite early uncertainty, Yung Miami is happy about moving forward with her pregnancy. Sadly we live in a climate where women are often expected to choose between having children in the world and their careers. Let’s not even talk about the pressure to snap back after carrying an entire human in your body. Congratulations Miami on your new bundle of joy!
