This past weekend The Beauty Junkie Tour kicked off in Charlotte, NC during the NBA All Star Weekend. The event was filled with industry experts that ranged from an award winning author, publicist, rapper, brand ambassador, sitcom television stars, fashion designer and more. The red carpet was set and it was the perfect setting to get inspired and learn more about the business.
Each guest at the event was met at the red carpet by the beautiful Jenelle and interviewed. Brunch was served that included chicken and waffle kabobs and the most popular henny pops. As guest filled the area they were greeted and network amongst the panel, vendors and other guest.
Vendors were also there for shopping including NailzbyRedd, who offers custom press ons. They look exactly like you have a perfect manicure. Check out her Instagram @nailzbyredd. Celebrity make up artist Charde Rene was also present providing make up tips and lash strips. With more than 7 years in the beauty industry Charde is full of knowledge and a veteran in the game. You can find her in Charlotte as well and on IG @charderene.
The panel had to be the highlight of the day. The panelist consisted of myself, Pretty Hustlaz own, and founder of Kei Ross Brand Curator, Kei Ross, Omar Tyree award winning author of every young girls favorite book in the 90s Flyy Girls, For the Love of Money, Just Say No and All Access. The beautiful Ari Diaz, Lifestyle Influencer, Danae Heckstall, fashion designer and owner of Dette and 16 year old Amya Roxxstar. Each panelist gave an introduction of how they got into the business and passed along some helpful hints for those wanting to jumpstart a career in the industry. I must say Amya, who is not only a rapper, but also an ambassador for Nordstrom and Yelle Skincare by Yandy is one of the most mature, well spoken 16 year olds I have ever met. Remember her name, because she is definitely going to take off.
The beautiful and talented Leslie Monet hosted the event and narrated the panel discussion. Leslie Monet has a background in media and as a publicist.
For all you Flyy Girls fans such as myself, Omar did hint that he is working hard on the movie, and we did let him know that we are here for it.
Some of the other special guest in attendance was DJ Stormy, Courtney Larisa, and Shatava Lindsey cast mates from Own TVs Ready To Love. Magazine Muzic also from Atlanta, was in the building conducting interviews and media coverage.
Despite the rainy weather, it was all smiles and happiness at this event. Now as stated this was the kickoff and the tour is slated to make stops in Atlanta, DC, LA, Miami and more. Stay on the look out for a stop in a city near you.
