On March 24th, Pretty Hustlaz correspondent and blogger, Kei hosted her first empowerment event in Greensboro, NC entitled Selfie’s N Stilettos. The event was sponsored by 97.9 Da Plugg Radio and held at the beautiful Stage 406.

Kei, who hosts Pretty N Plugg radio had the vision to bring women together in a formal environment that mixed networking, with some inspiration, good music and great food. The initial event had 50 tickets available, which sold out quickly and an additional 11 tickets were sponsored. Guest poured in from as Blacksburg, Va, Charlotte, NC and boarding VA cities during the final snow storm of the year. While the weather was ugly out, the vibe in the inside was beautiful.

The concept behind Selfie’s N Stilettos is to encourage women to trust their journey, keep their confidence high and always believe in their self. When we take selfies we are normally very critical of them. They must be perfect with not flaws in sight. Your grind and hustle should have the same visual. You should work hard not and not be satisfied until its perfected in your eyes. The stilettos symbolize standing tall and strong in who you are and displaying the confidence of a boss. When walking in stilettos, you feel like you own the scene. Your back is tall, chest out, and that walk will kill em. That should be the same confidence always displayed no matter if in heels or Adidas. As women we have to own whatever it is that we are walking in.

The speakers included: Molly Tieng aka Molly The Jeweler, who shared her inspirational story of making the jump from corporate America to an entrepreneur, Raya Clay 24 year who currently works for Fox Sports and also owns her own brand management firm with NFL and NBA clients, and Maryam Ali aka MOB, who told the story of her 8 year journey to being recognized nationally as the Master of Beauty. These ladies inspired every woman in the room, there were tears shed, lots of smiles, and true sisterhood developed. The ladies also had an opportunity to shop with a number of vendors. Glow Boutique, Paparazzi, Traveling Girl Tees, Britts Bridal and The Mob Collection, Cherish and MoeJoes Sweet Treats were all on hand displaying their products and services. The event was co-hosted by recording artist Paris Natoria, and DJ Herbal Essie held the crowd down playing everything from 90s Mya to 2Chainz trap music. Unique Styles and Designs out of Martinsville, Va was the event coordinator and bought Kei’s vision to life, and Lauren Bethea catered a wonderful meal.

Selfies N Stilettos are in the talk of going on a national tour, starting with Charlotte, NC and perhaps stoping in the Miami area, home of the Pretty Hustlaz.
