(Miami, Fl) We had the pleasure of attending Mia Renee’s 30 Reasons Empowerment Brunch at Angelito’s Ballroom. On the eve of her 30th birthday Mia (@starring_mia) selflessly decided to spend her day empowering others. The gracious host passed the mic around and asked the question ” How did your life change when you turned 30?”. Based on the responses, turning 30 was only the beginning of a new adventure, a time for growth and reflection. The age where you really start to show and value your inner beauty so much that it exudes on the outside.

This sold out event brought together some of Miami’s most influential speakers and members of the media. This was an empowerment event like no other, simply because of the mix of people in the building. It was a compilation of like minded individuals ready, willing, and able to give uplifting advice that was relatable. Music was provided by Miami’s very own, Dj Tight. There was an amazing brunch buffet which included bottomless mimosas. Vendors were available selling beauty products and original hand crafted jewelry.

The beautiful young ladies of Talented Toes (@talentedtoesdance) regaled the audience with a powerful praise dance to Tamela Mann’s “Take Me To The King”. Their performance paved the way for a thought provoking speech by Davica Williams (@davispeaks_). Williams is half  of the world renowned “Wonder Twinz”. Although her twin sister recently transitioned, she continues to push through and keep their vision alive. Once Davi grabbed the mic the demeanor of the entire room changed. We all sat up and were tuned in as she dropped gems on navigating through the world today. There was just something so positive and reassuring about her voice that you had to witness as she reminded us that we need to embrace our authenticity.

Recording Artist Blaze Carter (@blazecarter58_) spoke genuinely as the crowd hung on his every word. He was transparent about the kind of person he is and gave us an in-depth review of perception. Many times we are quick to judge people based on outward appearance without getting to know them and what they are really about. Carter went on to speak on the passing of his son King Carter who was only 6 years old. Shortly after the passing of his son, the general consensus from some people was “What was he doing to get his son killed?”. These thoughts could’nt be further from the truth, and although it hurt him to hear those things, it only brought him closer to God and jumpstarted his purpose. It has been a few years since the passing of his son and Blaze, along with his wife Monica, are carrying on the legacy of their son and going strong with their “Save Our Kings & Queens” initiatives.

The event was hosted by Meeky Meeks (@tee_meeks) and comedian Akeem V (akeem2funny). Other speakers included Relationship Coach John Momplaisir (@johnmomplaisir), Iyanifa Fajemirola and several others.

Definitely enjoyed ourselves at this event and we are looking forward to more in the very near future. Be sure to check out the host Mia Renee’s “LivingRoom Talk” every Wednesday at 8pm on Facebook Live where no topic is off limits!
