Journeys of Pretty Hustlaz success have different routes. Especially in entertainment, you never know who is going to come out with what. Recently Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Jennifer Hudson has been showing us since her debut on American Idol that she is more than just a strong singing voice. Though her career through the hit Reality TV show didn’t spin off as most others do, it opened up a new world for her and she is continuing to take it by storm. Hudson will be starring in the new Adam Sandler film “Sandy Wexler”. The film is the third of a four film contract between popular entertainment provider, Netflix, and Adam Sandler’s production company, Happy Madison.
Since her premiere as a singer, Hudson has starred in many films including Spike Lee’s “Chi-Raq”, “Black Nativity”, and the infamous, “Dream Girls”. She has endeavored Broadway as well, performing on the recent tour of “The Color Purple”.
In “Sandy Wexler”, Hudson plays Courtney Clarke, a regular theme park worker who has a phenomenal gift of voice. Clarke is discovered by Los Angeles talent agent, Sandy Wexler (Sandler) and they begin making magic. Shortly after, Wexler falls deeply in love with his new client. The film is set in the 1990’s so expect some different grooves and styles between the tones and setting of the movie. Directed by Steven Brill, Produced by Sandler/Happy Madison Productions, Allen Covert, Barry Bernardi, and Tim Herlihy; The film will debut to all Netflix subscribers in 2017.
