The 11th Annual Queen City Awards were held Saturday,December 16 at the Oasis Shriner. The event bought out the elite of Charlotte for this star-studded event.
This year Anthony Hamilton took home the Trendsetter Award, the Hamiltone’s paid tribute to the lead singer of the group.

“I’m so thankful that you guys chose me to honor me to do something that people thought was impossible. I am not only nominated for being a trendsetter but being a believer, and to inspire some young
kids they can do the same thing. Just dream big, work hard and believe big and its all possible. I did it right here in Charlotte, NC”.

Comedian, Nuff Said was the host and kept the crowd laughing. DRC Dance Company out of Charlotte opened the show with a powerful performances to Whitney Houston’s “I’m Every Woman”.

Some of the big winners of the night were: Chantel Williams (Female RnB Singer of The Year), D4 (Group of the Year), Jesslyn (Rock Female artist of the Year), Micheal Tracey (Rock Male of the Year), Shotgun (Rock Band of the Year), Power 92.7 The Block (Radio Station of The Year), and No Limit Larry (Morning Show of the Year). Congratulations to all the winners.

The big winners for the night came from, Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte. 25 students were Awarded with Konnected To Excellence Scholarships during the awards show.

The Queen City Awards get better each year and brings excitement to the Charlotte community. Kevan Glover and his team has done an awesome job orchestrating the awards
